Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

unIQ is a homeschool planning app operated by unIQ (uniqkind.nl), based in the Netherlands. We help homeschooling families plan, reflect, and adapt their learning week.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following data to provide the app's functionality:

  • Account data: email address, display name, role (parent/child)
  • Child profiles: name, age/date of birth, learning preferences, interests, strengths, challenges, focus duration, and regulation profile
  • Session data: scheduled sessions, completion status, difficulty ratings, enjoyment scores, feedback notes
  • Reflections: daily reflection responses, quote reflections, growth mindset data
  • Planning data: subjects, curricula, school year calendar, vacation periods

3. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Provide the app's planning and feedback features
  • Adapt the schedule based on feedback (difficulty factor adjustments)
  • Generate progress insights and learner profiles
  • Sync data across family members in the same household

4. What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell your data to third parties
  • We do not use your data for advertising
  • We do not share your data with data brokers or analytics companies
  • We do not use your children's data for any purpose beyond app functionality

5. Where your data is stored

All data is stored in Supabase, hosted in the EU (Ireland, eu-west-1). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use Supabase Row Level Security to ensure users can only access their own household's data.

6. Children's data

Child profiles are created by parents. Children may access the app via a PIN login set by their parent. We collect minimal data about children — only what is needed for the planning and feedback features. All children's data is managed by and accessible to their parent/guardian.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to processing

8. Data retention

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all data (including child profiles, session history, and reflections) is permanently deleted within 30 days.

9. Third-party services

  • Supabase (database and authentication) — EU hosted
  • Apple App Store (subscription management) — Apple's privacy policy applies for payment processing
  • RevenueCat (subscription management) — processes subscription status only, no personal data
